Founded in 1990, Alphabio is one of the first laboratories to be ISO 9001 certified (2000 version) in France and is one of the biggest in Europe in turnover.

All of the disciplines in medical biology have been developed here: biochemistry, hematology, microbiology and immunology.

One of the laboratory's strong points is its research sector in molecular biology with 6 staff members supervised by a PhD in molecular biology.

The two founder/owners are Dr. Philippe Halfon, director of the laboratory and responsible for research and development and Dr. Jean-Marc Feryn, director of the laboratory and responsible for microbiology and medically-assisted reproduction techniques. With more than 70 staff members, including 10 physicians and pharmacists-biologists, a staff member in charge of quality control, the laboratory serves over 10,000 clients: doctors, hospitals, medical clinics, and firms in the pharmaceutical sector in France and Europe, 24/7, in 3,000 m2 of premises that are completely automatically controlled.

The laboratory has now a special place in French medical biology and participates internationally in the development of diagnostics and therapies in the domain of virology.
